About
The Baby NETwork is a grassroots organization inspired by an article in Time Magazine, “The $10.00 Solution” by
Jeffrey Sachs, Jan. 15, 2007. The article told of the impact of malaria on the children of Africa, how a baby dies every few seconds and how a $10.00 bed net could make a difference by protecting those at risk from the malaria mosquito.
The article also encouraged grassroots involvement by ordinary citizens to become more informed about malaria, inform others and help provide more bed nets.
The Baby NETwork is a very “grassroots” response by ordinary citizens in one family. We are dedicated, from the grandparents down to grandchildren, to spreading the word about malaria, encouraging others to get involved and to sending more bed nets to Africa. As the grandmother of this family it gives me great pleasure to envision a bed net over another grandmother’s dear ones protecting them from the malaria mosquitoes. Here is something I can do: provide a bed net.
By partnering with Malaria No More we have been able to take advantage of a vast amount of information on the overall campaign to eradicate malaria. For a broader picture of the campaign to make malaria no more and for more ways to become involved, go to their program at: www.malarianomore.org![]()
